DADE CITY — The city will hold open house sessions next week about a proposed stormwater utility fee the City Commission is set to consider in the coming weeks.
City staff will be on hand in Commission Chambers, 14150 5th St., on Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11 to 7 p.m. to discuss the proposed rates. The commission is considering creating a stormwater utility fee to pay for capital improvements needed on the city's stormwater system, according to city documents.
The city is considering a rate of $3.75 per month for residential customers, for a total of $45 per year, according to City Manager Billy Poe. The plan is to add the fee to customers' property tax bills. The open houses will be followed by public commission hearings on creating the fee.
