Dog adoptions resume at Hillsborough shelter

Dog adoptions are resuming at the Hillsborough County animal shelter, two weeks after being halted by a bout of illness running through the kennels. The shelter will phase in the pool of dogs available for adoption, with the first 40 cleaned, groomed and ready for public inspection starting Saturday. The shelter is also offering a limited time, $20 special that will cover all costs to take a pup home. There was already a $20 special for cats, which remains in place. The shelter is located at 440 N Falkenburg Road, just east of Tampa.
