Have a comment on county's budget? Here's your chance
Residents have a chance tonight to give feedback on next year's county budget during the last of three community meetings. Commissioners and county staffers will take input on a proposal to slightly increase the property tax rate to offset falling property values. Officials also will discuss a campaign to renew the 1-cent Penny for Pasco sales tax. A recent change in state law would allow the county to spend a portion of the renewed tax on economic development. The meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the West Pasco Government Center, 8731 Citizens Drive. It will also be televised on Bright House Channel 622 and Verizon Channel 42.
