Kenneth City schedules forum for Town Council candidates

KENNETH CITY — A meet the candidates night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kenneth City Community Hall, 4600 58th St. N. The event will be moderated by the League of Women Voters. Three candidates are running for the two available seats on the council — political newcomers Barbara Roberts and Ellen Dalbo and incumbent Phil Redisch. Kenneth City is completing a transition to a council-manager form of government that was mandated last year by voters. Under that form of government, a professional manager oversees the daily running of the town and supervises all departments and employees. A council consisting of a mayor and four members sets policy, passes a budget and hires the manager and a town attorney. Those who are elected will be the first to operate under the new format. The two top vote-getters will take office. The election is March 11. For information about the forum, contact Kali Gillespie at (727) 434-4236 or kalico@tampabay.rr.com.

    Cooking

I rarely cook with ground beef. Ground turkey became the go-to ground protein in my kitchen years ago.
