CAFE INside LIBRARY GETS NEW OPERATOR

City commissioners voted Tuesday to approve a new operator for the cafe inside Largo's public library.

R.G.'s Restaurant was given approval to set up shop to provide food and beverage services to library patrons, with a monthly rent less than that originally sought by city officials.

According to the terms approved by commissioners, R.G.'s will receive three months free rent, followed by nine more months of a reduced rent of $800 before eventually being ramped up to $1,000 per month in 2012.

Earlier this year, city officials voted not to extend the contract of Dalal Mansour, the previous operator of the cafe, at a rate of $1,000 per month.

Mansour has been operating the cafe rent-free since her agreement ended in June.
