Madeira Beach to finalize $12.25 million spending plan

MADEIRA BEACH — If there is any doubt that the city is changing, residents need only look at an ordinance slated for a final commission vote Tuesday that officially sets next year's capital spending plan at $12.25 million.

A planned new City Hall and recreational complex leads the list at $9.9 million, followed by $1.18 million for stormwater and roadway improvements, $850,000 for marina dock construction, $300,000 for transient docks, and $26,000 for reconstruction of beach groins.

Although the capital spending plan is a required element of the city's comprehensive plan, actual disbursement of the funds will require additional votes by the commission.
