New Port Richey narrows list of city manager applicants

NEW PORT RICHEY — After more than a year, the City Council has a short list of candidates they want to interview for city manager.

The list includes Peter Altman, who the city recently hired as its finance and human resources director. He is also former mayor of New Port Richey and Pasco County commissioner.

City Council members last week also voted to interview Lyndon Bonner, former city manager of North Miami Beach; Jim Pascale, former town administrator of Princeton, NJ; and Isaac Turner, former city manager of Venice, Fla., and current church administrator of First Baptist Church in Venice.

The city manager post has been open since the resignation of John Schneiger, who departed in September 2012 saying he had lost the support of the City Council. The council then appointed library director Susan Dillinger in October 2012 to serve as interim city manager.
