If you have been dreading returning that waaaay overdue library book, now's the time.
And all it will cost you is a can of green beans or another non-perishable food item.
The Pasco County Library System has declared amnesty month that begins Wednesday and lasts through Dec. 20. Patrons can bring back any item, no matter how long it's been out, and avoid late fines as long as they also bring along a donation for the Suncoast Harvest Food Bank.
Those who have lost items will be required to pay only the replacement fee; all fines will be waived. The policy also applies to CDs and DVDs. Food donations should equal the number of overdue items being returned.
Participating branches include South Holiday, Centennial Park, Regency Park, Hudson, Land O' Lakes, New River, and Hugh Embry, as well as the city of Zephyrhills Library.
