Pinellas elections office to send 1,800 voters new information cards

ST. PETERSBURG — The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections is sending 1,800 voters in District 6 new voter information cards, the second mistake attributed to the city's recent redistricting.

The announcement came a day after the office said it had also sent incorrect mail ballots to 780 voters in District 6 for the city's Aug. 27 primary.

The new voter cards, expected to be mailed Wednesday, will go out to all voters in precinct 106 and some in precinct 109, said Nancy Whitlock, spokeswoman for supervisor of elections Deborah Clark. The old cards had the wrong district listed.

Three candidates are seeking the District 6 council seat. Trevor Mallory and Sharon Russ are hoping to unseat council chairman Karl Nurse, who is running for reelection.
