PINELLAS PARK — Taxpayers here will see a 3 percent increase in property tax rates in the coming fiscal year under a budget the City Council approved Thursday. The tax money will go to a general fund budget of about $51.2 million, about $1.6 million more than the current $49.6 million budget. The tax rate will increase to about $5.59 per $1,000 of assessed, taxable value on real estate. That's up from the current $5.43. Homeowners of a $150,000 house with a $50,000 homestead exemption will pay about $559 in property taxes to Pinellas Park.
