TAMPA — Members of the Tampa City Council on Thursday heard an update from city staff about the current levels of rowdiness at Hogan's Beach restaurant and bar.

The staff's report: so far, so good.

The Courtney Campbell Causeway establishment, owned by professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, had previously been the target of numerous noise complaints. Sal Ruggiero, manager of the Tampa Neighborhood Enhancement Division, said he hadn't observed any code violations at the property over the past seven months.

When neighbors called the restaurant to complain about noise, Ruggiero said, Hogan's Beach was consistent in complying with city ordinances and addressing any issues.

Gloria Moreda, manager of Tampa Land Development Coordination, said the late-night concerts hosted by the bar were major problems for nearby residents.

The venue, she said, now understood its "limitations" and will no longer schedule major concerts.

Concerns about a recent fight at the restaurant were raised by council members, but Tampa police Capt. Calvin Johnson said it was a minor incident involving no more than four or five people.

"Fights do happen at clubs," Johnson said.

In other business, the council approved:

• Repairs to the nearly 90-year-old Laurel Street Bridge, awarding $3,246,790 to Royal Bridge Inc.

• Awarding $3,993,549.75 to divert 2 million gallons of freshwater to the Hillsborough River from the Blue Sink Pump Station.

• Two settlements totaling $175,000. One with Tiana Serrano-Lang for $125,000 for the wrongful death of her husband Feb. 19, 2014; the other with Willie McCarr for $50,000 after he was injured falling into a drain.
