TAMPA — The heavily-used Seminole Heights Branch Library is being torn down Tuesday to make way for a new and expanded one.
The nearly 50-year-old library at 4711 Central Ave. was closed Oct. 31. A new, 22,000-square-foot library —about three times the current size — will include a large community room, more public Internet computers, a children's department, a teen room and more parking, among other improvements.
Construction for the nearly $3.9 million project is expected to be complete in late 2013, according to Hillsborough County government.
