Seminole Mayor Leslie Waters was elected to the board of directors of the Florida League of Mayors on Aug. 15 during the Florida League of Cities conference in Orlando.

The Florida League of Mayors is a statewide, nonprofit organization founded in November 2005. The purpose of the league is to provide educational outreach on civic, community, municipal and government issues, and to provide policy guidance to state and national leaders. The board has 21 members.

"I am very proud to now be part of a powerful voice that serves the 410 cities across the state of Florida," Waters said.
