SEMINOLE — Mike Rodde of the Seminole Fire and Rescue department has been named Fire Marshal of the Year by the Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association. It is the first time in 10 years that a Pinellas County fire marshal has earned the distinction. Rodde, 44, has been with the Seminole department since 2005. He has served as fire marshal since 2007.
Rodde has a "strong belief in customer service," interim fire Chief Terry Tokarz said. "Mike always manages to take a well-balanced leadership role no matter which of his customers he works with and applies the appropriate amount of education, leverage and compromise as is necessary to get the desired outcome."
