Some upcoming events for Hernando County

PROPERTY APPRAISER TO CLOSE OFFICE FOR TRAINING: The Hernando County Property Appraiser's Office will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon March 15 for training purposes.

Offices are at the Hernando County Government Center, Room 463, 20 N Main St., Brooksville; and in the Westside Government Center, 7525 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. For information, call (352) 754-4190.

SHOWCASE FOR MEN'S HEALTH AND CARS: A Men's Health Fair and Car Show will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 at Brooksville Regional Hospital, 17240 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville.

The event will include free screenings in a "Tune-Up" area for thyroid, body mass index, blood glucose, memory, strength test, blood pressure, prostate-specific antigen, pulse oximetry and ankle-brachial index.

There will be information booths with resources on topics related to men's health, games such as a golf swing challenge and quarterback toss, door prizes and more than 75 vintage cars presented by Monster Transmission and Performance.

A complimentary barbecue lunch will be provided.
