TREASURE ISLAND — Volunteers are needed for Saturday's annual Treasure Island sea oats planting.
This year the city is hoping to plant 4,500 seedlings and 950 1-gallon plants in the dune area near 104th Avenue. Volunteers use metal poles to make holes in the sand and then drop the plants in.
Volunteers should meet at 8:30 a.m. at Gulf Front Park at Gulf Boulevard and 104th Avenue. For information, call (727) 360-4533.
