ZEPHYRHILLS — Appraisals for pieces of property are in the works so they can be considered as sites for the proposed Zephyrhills fire rescue station.
The estimated $1.7-million fire station will replace the city's deteriorating downtown station. Various funding options for the new building will be discussed at the next Zephyrhills City Council meeting, which starts at 6 tonight.
Also, the contract between the three Zephyrhills Police Department school resource officers and the Pasco County School Board is up for renewal for the next fiscal year.
The council is set to discuss the contract's renewal today.
Also on the agenda is a development agreement for a city-owned economic development building at Industrial Park. It is hoped the new building will be a source of jobs and revenue for the city.
Council members should also be discussing agreements between the city and Progress Energy Florida.
