Zephyrhills moves forward on airport office building and millage rate

ZEPHYRHILLS — In a special meeting held Aug. 4 to discuss Zephyrhills' future office building at the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, council members voted to move forward with a development agreement between the city, CLS Zephyrhills LLC and Progress Energy.

Also at that meeting, the council approved the third draft of the city's 2008-09 fiscal budget based on a proposed millage rate of 5.57079.

That rate hasn't changed from 2007-08, and is not expected to, according to city officials.

Public hearings on the budget are slated for Sept. 10 and 22 at City Hall.

And at tonight's council meeting at 6, the city's Utility Department will discuss the need for liquid sodium hypochlorite for the city's water and wastewater plants.

Four companies have placed bids. After a review of each bid, the council plans to award a one-year contract to one of them.
