Men try to steal hundreds in razor blades from Tampa-area Walmart

TAMPA — They must have really needed to shave.

Deputies said two men tried to steal $568 worth of Gillette Fusion razor blades from a Walmart at 6192 Gunn Highway on Monday night. The men stuffed the razor packages into a backpack, but dropped it when they were confronted near the store's exit, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

The two were then seen leaving in a gold Chrysler minivan.

Both men were described as Hispanic. One was 18 to 21 years old, between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 8, about 160 pounds, with a goatee and was last seen wearing a red "Salvation 33" t-shirt and blue jeans, according to detectives. The other man was between 30 and 49 years old, 6 foot 1 to 6 foot 3, 180 pounds, bald and was last seen wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans.

Deputies asked anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200. Anyone who wishes to be eligible for a cash reward can call Tampa Bay Crime Stoppers at (800) 873-8477.
