Leadership changes hands at Marine Corps Central Command

Lt. Gen. Robert B. Neller, outgoing leader of the Marine Corps Forces Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, participated in the official change of command ceremony on Wednesday at the base. Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie takes over as commander of Marine Corps Forces Central Command, or MARCENT, which oversees Marines throughout the Middle East and Central Asia. "The Marine Corps, we see ourselves as being forward-deployed, ready to respond to things that develop in the course of a day so we can be on scene that afternoon," McKenzie said. "… We deploy our units for that, with that kind of crisis response contingency in mind."
