Col. Scott DeThomas marked his final flight Tuesday as commander of MacDill Air Force Base's 6th Air Mobility Wing. DeThomas is expected to leave MacDill in August after two years as base commander, a base spokesman said. DeThomas, a Rhode Island native and graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, has accumulated more than 3,000 hours of flying time in a variety of aircraft, including the KC-135 aerial refueling tanker, MacDill's signature plane.
