TAMPA — Stephen Governale, a former civilian protocol officer at U.S. Central Command, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Orlando to trying to entice a 17-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity.
He will be sentenced June 13.
Governale, 49, of Tampa, a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserve, met the boy through an organization affiliated with the military. The sexual activity took place at conferences, records show.
The boy's parents alerted the FBI after becoming aware of Facebook sex chats.
