Randy Jackson to visit MacDill

TAMPA — Randy Jackson, one of the original judges on TV's American Idol, will visit MacDill Air Force Base Thursday.

Jackson is scheduled to tour a KC-135 refueling tanker at the base, a flight simulator and control tower. He will also visit with some military dogs and watch a musical performed by students at MacDill's Tinker Elementary School.

Jackson will perform with MacDill vocalist Staff Sgt. Aisha Davis, the 2011 Air Mobility Command Icon winner, during a ceremony for newly promoted master sergeants. They will perform God Bless America with Jackson playing guitar.

The event is open to anyone who has access to the base.
