Air Force Airman Joel M. Eicher graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Eicher is the son of David Eicher of St. Petersburg.

He is a graduate of Keswick Christian School, Seminole.

Navy Seaman Taylor B. Tucker, son of Timothy E. and Ramona K. Tucker of St. Petersburg, was promoted to his current rank upon graduation from U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Tucker is a graduate of Dixie Hollins High School, Kenneth City.

Air Force Airman William E. Van Dam graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Van Dam is the son of Bonnie Peterson of Largo.

He is a graduate of Largo High School.

    RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia State Police special agent died Saturday after being shot by a man sitting in a car in Richmond, police said. The shooting suspect fled on foot, sparking an overnight manhunt that ended with the man's arrest about an hour after the agent's death.
