Marine Corps Pfc. Michael J. Ovellette, son of Michelle Youkem of Clearwater and Michael J. Ovellette of Pinellas Park, graduated from recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C.

For 13 weeks, Ovellette stayed committed during demanding entry-level military training that included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M-16A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies.

He also took part in the Crucible, a 54-hour final test of recruits' minds and bodies. Upon completion, recruits are presented the Marine Corps emblem and called Marines for the first time.

Ovellette is a 2012 graduate of Clearwater High.

Doug Martin gets the Bucs’ only touchdown on a 2-yard run, squeaking past linebacker Telvin Smith in the first quarter. He has five carries for 30 yards.
