Tampa Bay area military news: graduations galore

Coast Guard Seaman Kristopher S. Messer, son of Tamara and William Waterman of St. Petersburg, recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J. Messer is a 2007 graduate of Gibbs High School of St. Petersburg.

Army Pvt. David L. Sims, son of Margaret Folse of Tampa and Mike Sims of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Sims graduated in 2000 from Plant High School in Tampa.

Air Force Airman William R. Bennett, son of Robert Bennett of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Bennett is a 2005 graduate of Northeast High School in St. Petersburg.

Army Pvt. Ernest Chasteen, son of Brenda Chasteen of Pinellas Park, has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

Army National Guard Pvt. Robert J. Michel, son of Tracy S. Farr of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. Michel graduated in 2008 from St. Petersburg High School.
