Motorcyclist dies in early-morning Pasco crash

PASCO COUNTY — A 22-year-old man died early Saturday in Pasco County when his motorcycle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch, authorities say.

The Florida Highway Patrol did not immediately release the man's name, but said he was from Palm Harbor.

He was driving a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle about 5:30 a.m. on Perrine Ranch Road. When he approached the intersection of Meadowood Drive, the driver lost control and the motorbike overturned and ran into a ditch, troopers reported.

The man was taken to Trinity Hospital and later died.
