Train tanker cars carrying oil derail, burn in Virginia

Firefighters and rescue workers work along the tracks where several CSX tanker cars carrying crude oil derailed and caught fire Wednesday along the James River near downtown Lynchburg, Va. Several buildings were evacuated, but officials said there were no injuries. Three black tankers ended up in the river leaking some of their contents, becoming the most recent crash involving oil trains that has safety experts pushing for better oversight. “This is another national wake-up call,” said Jim Hall, a former chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board.
