Joan and Robert Bolio of St. Petersburg have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Married on April 17, 1943, in Waltham, Mass., the Bolios moved to the area upon retiring.
Mrs. Bolio retired from Burger King and Robert served in the Army in the 2nd Division Arrowhead and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Atlantic Business Forms.
The Bolios now reside at Bon Secours Menorah Manor, where they have many friends who love to hear their stories, and after 70 years of marriage, you can still find them sitting together and holding hands.
Betty and John R. Cappa of St. Petersburg recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They've planned a cruise to Bermuda in August to celebrate. They were married on June 15, 1963, in St. Petersburg.
Mr. Cappa moved to the area from Palisades Park, N.J. in 1950. Mrs. Cappa was born in Panama and came to the United States in 1961. Mr. Cappa is an Army Reserves veteran, having served seven years. He was an officer in the 829 Station Hospital in St. Petersburg and was adjutant and detachment commander. He retired as a captain. He went on to law school and began practicing law in 1963. He formed John R. Cappa PA in St. Petersburg and practiced law with his son. Although he is not actively practicing, Mr. Cappa still spends time at the law office. Mrs. Cappa has been the family homemaker.
The Cappas are parishioners at St. Raphael's Catholic Church and are members of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. They have three children and five grandchildren.
Roberta and Bruce Rauch of St. Petersburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 8 with friends at the Old Pink House in Savannah, Ga. Their celebration continued with a weeklong family reunion at Marriott's Crystal Shores Resort in Marco Island.
