New Year's Day closings

The following will be closed today, unless otherwise noted.

Government and courts

Federal, state, county offices and courts will be closed.

Buses and streetcars

HART and HARTplus will operate on a Sunday schedule, and the TECO Line Streetcar System will operate on a normal schedule.

Malls, attractions, museums

International Plaza, WestShore Plaza, Westfield Citrus Park and Westfield Brandon will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. University Mall will be open noon to 6 p.m. Department store and restaurant hours may vary.

The Tampa Museum of Art will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Florida Aquarium will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Busch Gardens will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lowry Park Zoo will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Garbage collection

The city of Tampa, the city of Temple Terrace and the Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Department will not have garbage collection or recycling pickup.

Utilities

Tampa Electric and People's Gas offices will be closed.

Post offices and mail delivery

All post offices will be closed; no mail delivery.

Schools

Hillsborough County public schools are closed. Hillsborough Community College, the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa are closed.

Libraries and banks

All public libraries and most banks will be closed.

Recreation

City and county recreation centers and parks will be open.
