PINELLAS PARK — Harriet Rogers Jackson, who ran an iconic outdoors store with her husband, Bill Jackson, died Monday, less than five weeks after the death of her husband.

She was 93.

Mrs. Jackson played a key role in launching and maintaining a family business that started with a storefront in 1951 on Fourth Street S. While Bill Jackson was the store's unquestioned leader for decades, his wife ("Mrs. J" to employees) was often at his right hand. She is credited with zealously preserving the trees surrounding the current store on U.S. 19, the store's location since 1968.

Bill Jackson, her husband of 67 years, died Jan. 29 at 98.

A memorial service for Mrs. Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. March 17 at Royal Palm Cemetery, 101 55th St. S, St. Petersburg. The public is welcome. For more information, call Bill Jackson's at (727) 576-4169.
