Pasco County Schools' holds chili sampler benefit to help Haitian relief effort

Chili for charity was the order of the day Wednesday at Pasco County School District headquarters in Land 0’Lakes. Elementary school principals from across the county made batches of chili, and samplers voted for their favorites by donating money. All proceeds from the event go to the American Red Cross’ Haitian earthquake relief efforts. “I think it’s a cute idea,” Mary Dimitroff said of the chili sampler benefit. “It’s perfect weather for chili.” Five Haitian earthquake refugees are enrolled in Pasco schools.
