TAMPA — The founder of Revealing Truth Ministries Christian Center, Pastor Greg Powe, died unexpectedly Monday. He was 62.

"We are in shock over the passing of this great man of faith, yet we know that he is now in our Father God's loving arms in Heaven," reads a statement on the Revealing Truth website.

Powe was born in Mobile, Ala., and met his wife, Deborah, also an ordained pastor, in Atlanta. They served together there and trained with World Changers Church International.

They moved to Tampa in 1990 with their four children — Gregory, Christopher, Bryan and Chrystle — and founded Revealing Truth Ministries.

The ministry began with a daily radio show and hosted its first church service in November 1991. It currently has three campuses in Florida.

Regular services will continue; this Sunday, there will be regular services in Tampa but none in Wesley Chapel.

Public viewing will be 4 to 8 p.m. at Revealing Truth's Tampa location, 5201 N Armenia Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd.
