TAMPA — Without Walls International Church will celebrate its 21st anniversary on Sunday with a special "Homecoming Service" featuring the return of its co-founder, pastor Randy White.
The Rev. White, who resigned as senior pastor in 2009 because of health concerns, returned to his former post three weeks ago.
On Sunday, church officials said, he will share his testimony about how his daughter's 2008 death from brain cancer caused a spiraling descent that included pill addiction and a suicide attempt before White sought professional help.
The 10 a.m. service will include Christian music artist Vickie Winans, the introduction of the Without Walls Full Mass Choir and White's plans for a new sanctuary, education facility, commercial kitchen and food pantry while retiring much of the church's debt by raising $300,000 with the help of members of the church at 3860 W Columbus Drive.
"Without Walls will be a lighthouse to the community," White said in a statement. "There will be a day when every seat is filled, every bill is paid and this church will be known for restoration and evangelism."
White replaces his ex-wife, Paula White, as senior pastor. Paula White recently accepted the same position at New Destiny Christian Center near Orlando.
