Seminole City Council: Incumbents sweep election

SEMINOLE — Incumbents swept the City Council election Tuesday.

Bob Matthews and Roger Edelman were the top two vote-getters with about 35 percent of the vote each. Tom Christy, who was making his eighth run for office, trailed with about 19 percent of the vote. Joseph E. Pacelli, a political newcomer, had about 11 percent.

Matthews, owner of Seminole Garden Florist & Party Store, has served on the council since 1990. Edelman, president of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce and a retired sales manager, will start his second term.
