• A dinner-dance fundraiser for Hernando County Commissioner Christopher Kingsley will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hatillo Social Club, 13185 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill. There will be food and a DJ. The cost is $10. Kingsley, a Democrat, is running for re-election for the Hernando County Commission, District 5 seat. • The Ridge Manor Property Owners' Association will host a Candidates Night at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Ridge Manor Community Center, 34240 Cortez Blvd. A confirmed 27 candidates running for state and county seats will participate. Each candidate will have five minutes to speak. Once all have finished, there will be an informal question-and-answer session. Refreshments will be served. • The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee will host a Candidates Primary Forum at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 in the commission chambers at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St., Brooksville. A "meet and greet" with the candidates will precede the forum at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served. For information, call (352) 796-0697.

• The Wellington Democratic Club will host a Candidate Forum at 2 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Wellington Clubhouse, 400 Wexford Blvd., Spring Hill. Participants include Congressional District 5 candidates John Russell, Carol Castagnero and David H. Werder; State House District 44 candidate Joseph Puglia; Hernando County Commission candidate Ramon Gutierrez and Hernando County Commissioners Diane Rowden and Christopher Kingsley; Supervisor of Elections Annie Williams; School Board District 4 candidate James Yant and Hernando County sheriff candidate Luke Frazier. Area residents can have their questions on issues answered. Refreshments will be served.
