The deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 14 Florida primaries is Monday.
Only residents registered with a political party can vote in their party's primary — with an exception:
If all candidates in a race are of the same party, and the winner of the primary faces no opposition in the November general election, then all registered voters can cast ballots in that race regardless of party affiliation.
And all registered voters also can vote in nonpartisan races.
New voter applications and change of party registrations must be postmarked by Monday.
For details on who is eligible to register, what documentation is required and how to submit an application, an applicant can visit his or her county's supervisor of elections website.
