Santorum dusted in glitter by protesters

Rick Santorum was trying to sparkle in the eyes of Florida voters — but not like this. The GOP presidential candidate was covered in glitter after three Occupy Tampa protesters threw a glitter bomb at him Monday during a planned speech at a Lady Lake American Legion Hall. This is the third glitz blitz Santorum has faced in almost as many weeks. Glitter bombing has been used to protest opposition to gay rights. On Monday, Lake County deputies carried two men off the premises, and later returned for a third. One shouted "stop the hate" as he threw a fistful of shimmery stuff. The other declared "Rick Santorum is a homophobe" as deputies carried them away. Glenn Costa, Joseph Perry and Michael Fernandez told officials they were part of the Occupy Tampa movement and had come to protest Santorum's position on gay issues. They were given trespass warnings.
