TALLAHASSEE — Florida Gov. Rick Scott is visiting New York City to try to recruit businesses and jobs to the state.

A spokeswoman said Scott was scheduled to arrive Sunday. His schedule will include a visit with Motorola officials as well as visits with financial institutions.

Scott is also scheduled to appear on CNBC today.

Scott made job growth a centerpiece of his re-election campaign. He has promised to keep working to push the state's unemployment rate down further during a second term.

The state's jobless rate for October was 6 percent. November unemployment numbers will be announced Friday.

During his first four years, Scott took 10 trips abroad on trade missions. His last trip overseas was to Japan in November 2013.
