Hispanic Network party has Rubio, but no Rosario Dawson

Florida GOP superstar Sen. Marco Rubio talked immigration and free enterprise at "Red, White, Y Tu," the Hispanic Leadership Network party at the Intercontinental Tampa on Tuesday.

For Hispanics and Latinos, immigration is complex, he said. "And there is no one-size-fits-all solution. ... Immigration is not a theoretical issue."

Actor and Voto Latino cofounder Rosario Dawson was ill and unable to attend, a spokesman said, but guests at a preconvention party also heard from former U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin and former White House staffer Daniel Garza, executive director of the Libre Initiative, which aims to reduce economic and business regulations.

The Frankie Negron band played salsa tunes, and partiers partook of prickly pear margaritas, an enchilada bar, coffee and pastries.
