Many charter amendments will be on Pinellas ballots

PINELLAS COUNTY

An amendment seeks to lengthen the time between sessions of the Charter Review Commission from every six to every eight years, coinciding with presidential elections. It also would require the group to hold two public hearings before giving its recommendations to the County Commission.

DUNEDIN

A referendum questions whether terms for the mayor and city commissioners should change from three to four years.

LARGO

An amendment seeks to lengthen the terms of the mayor and city commissioners from three to four years, thereby eliminating elections when there is no countywide election.

REDINGTON BEACH

An amendment would increase the salary of the mayor to $500 a month and commissioners to $300.

PINELLAS SUNCOAST FIRE AND RESCUE

A referendum would allow the district to increase nonproperty tax assessments based on average annual income increases or the Florida consumer price index, whichever is larger.
