Belleair Bluffs could add to office terms

The city of Belleair Bluffs is asking residents to vote on a charter amendment that would add another year to the terms of the mayor and commissioners.

The referendum question listed at the very end of the Nov. 6 ballot gives voters in Belleair Bluffs the choice of extending the elected officials' terms to three years, up from two, or keeping them as they are now.

The terms would remain staggered, meaning that the entire City Commission and mayor would not be running for re-election at the same time.
