EDITOR'S NOTE: This story contains information that has been corrected from what appeared earlier in print and online. See below for an explanation.

Planning to vote? Before you answer, consider what this election could mean for you and your family. Swag! Here are some of the freebies and deals you can score today by showing off your "I voted" sticker:

Krispy Kreme: Mmmm. Patriotism. In the form of a star-shaped doughnut with sprinkles. All locations.

Starbucks: No need to wear a sticker; baristas will take your word that you voted and pour a free tall (small) brewed coffee. All locations.

Cafe Hey! The downtown Tampa coffee shop, 1540 N Franklin St., pours a free small coffee for the stickered.

Chick-fil-A: Your "I voted" sticker is worth a free chicken sandwich. You may have to surrender the sticker.

Fish Tales Seafood House: The sticker is worth a free 16-ounce Presidente beer at Fish Tales, 1500 Second St. S in St. Petersburg.

Shane's Rib Shack: Score a free three-piece chicken tenders, fries and a 20-ounce drink at all Shane's locations.

Tour de Pizza: A free slice of cheese pizza. Flash that sticker at 212 37th Ave. N in St. Petersburg.

Ben and Jerry's: They don't make you prove anything. Just show up between 5 and 8 p.m. and claim your free scoop of ice cream. All locations.

The Improv: The sticker gets you $2 off admission to the Improv's Post Election Comedy Night, 8 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is $5 without a sticker. Considering Florida's contribution to political humor, every laugh counts. 1600 E Eighth Ave., Tampa.

Staff writers Jay Cridlin, Justin George, Nicole Hutcheson, Michael Kruse and Joshua Neiderer contributed to this report.

CORRECTION: Tour de Pizza is at 212 37th Ave. N in St. Petersburg. Earlier versions of this story contained an incorrect address.

Chick Filet at 3423 Ulmerton Road did not honor the ad. Shame on Chick Filet. Will not be back.
by Tramor Nov 5, 2008 9:01 PM
It's too bad that by 6:00PM, the Chick Fil-A on St Pete Beach stopped giving out sandwiches, they resorted to Milk Shakes and gave no latitude for fries, etc. if someone didn't or couldn't drink milk. My mind was set for a sandwich, not a shake!
by Joe Nov 4, 2008 9:03 PM
I did it with the exception of Chick-fil-a running out of sandwiches. All are crossed off the list. Now all I need is Chuck Baldwin to pull off a miracle.
by lenora Nov 4, 2008 6:56 PM
All chick filas are note honoring this ad. I was told by two locations that they are not honoring the ads. This is false advertisment.Shanes off Bruce B Downs are turning away african americans stating they stopped their ad at 2pm, not true!

My donut didn't have red, white and blue sprinkles.

I work in Tampa and I've knocked out Hey Cafe, Shane's and Krispy Kreme during lunch. On my way home I will hit Starbucks, C-F-A, Tour Pizza. Then I will go back out with wife for Ben & Jerry's and a cold beer!!!

Shane's Rib Shack was the best

Hey King Gator...this is their choice to share their prosperity...not government mandated! That would be SOCIALISM. Go McCain
by Marie S. Nov 4, 2008 3:44 PM
mumbles - I'm fairly positive that the law only applies when freebies are given to encourage people from voting for a specific canidate, not for voting in general. I'm sure these major corporations have lawyers to check on these laws...
by Kat Nov 4, 2008 1:38 PM
Jan, must of these places aren't worried about your sticker if you read this correctly.
by Marty S. Nov 4, 2008 1:35 PM
King Gator - you don't get it. This is voluntary redistribution by private enterprise. Not gov't mandated redistribution of tax dollars. There's a vast difference in the two!
by Denise Nov 4, 2008 1:34 PM
Chik-fil-A Brandon is not participating. Not going over very well with the customers that have waited in line.
by Amanda Nov 4, 2008 1:24 PM
Jan- Starbucks isn't requiring a sticker. You just have to tell them you voted and they'll take your word for it. Though the rest CLAIM you have to show a sticker, I have a feeling they won't make you. Just explain you voted early. Many people did!
by LIbbyRal Nov 4, 2008 1:04 PM
Amanda - save Chik for last in case they make you surrender the sticker. its' ok - life is short - eat dessert first : )
by mumbles Nov 4, 2008 1:03 PM
Federal election laws bar giving people free stuff to encourage them ? or dissuade them ? from voting. Expect arrests soon.
by King Gator Nov 4, 2008 10:17 AM
Lets see if the Repub's pass up this redistribution of wealth? :)
by Jan Nov 4, 2008 10:17 AM
I would love a freebee, but I voted by mail. So those of who did, or voted early and no longer have their sticker get nothing! How nice.
by Amanda Nov 4, 2008 9:32 AM
WOW!!! mmm..a FRE day of food! 1st, I'll get a donut from Krispy K., a chicken sandwich from Chik, a piece of pizza from TDP, a beer at Fish Tales and an ice cream cone for dessert at B&J's..
