What is this?

It's a tool to find your state lawmakers in the House and Senate. Simply type in your address and we will show you who represents you and what their districts look like.

Who made this?

MyLawmaker was created by William Higgins, Andy Boyle and Darla Cameron, a news technologist and web designer with the Tampa Bay Times and tampabay.com. The idea for the project came from similar sites, such as The New York Times' Represent and The Oregonian's Your Government.

How did you make this?

Legislative district boundary data came from the Florida Geographic Data Library. The legislators' data was pulled from multiple sources, including their individual pages on the Legislature's Web sites. City council or commission member data came from each cities' website.
