PolitiFact.com, the St. Petersburg Times' fact-checking website, will announce its 2010 Lie of the Year tonight on ABC's Nightline.
The Lie of the Year is awarded to the most significant falsehood of the year. In 2009, the winner was the claim that the health care plan would include "death panels."
This year's winner will be announced on Nightline, which airs at 11:35 p.m. on WFTS-Ch. 28, in a segment with PolitiFact editor Bill Adair. On Friday, Adair will discuss it on NPR's Morning Edition. That segment is scheduled to air between 7 and 8 a.m.
