Police temporarily close downtown streets for RNC march

TAMPA — Police have temporarily closed most of the streets in downtown Tampa to accommodate the March on the RNC protest.

The unplanned closures include Orange Avenue/Pierce Street, Polk Street, Morgan Street, Tyler Street, Cass Street, Zack Street, Twiggs Street, Madison Street, Kennedy Boulevard and Jackson Street.

The march, with several hundred participants, begins at noon. Marchers will head south on Orange Avenue, west on Polk, then south on Morgan Street to the official parade route.
