ST. PETERSBURG — A new poll of more than 1,000 registered voters in St. Petersburg this week revealed a preference for Pier Park as opposed to Destination St. Pete Pier on the eve of the big City Council vote to select a new Pier design.
Registered voters in the city, as found on state voter lists, were randomly chosen for a web-based email poll conducted by St. Pete Polls. Between Monday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 6, 1,008 residents took the survey. Those results were weighted to account for proportional demographic information (race, age and gender) of St. Petersburg's registered voter population.
Included in the survey were pictures and a video from each pier design team.
The margin of error was 3.1 percent.
