LARGO — Officials have arrested a man and are seeking another in connection with a string of armed robberies on Monday.

The first set of robberies occurred Oct. 4 at a Citgo gas station, 1701 West Bay Drive and a Chevron station, 790 East Bay Drive. Then, on Friday, there was an armed robbery at a Speedway station, 5798 Roosevelt Blvd.

While investigating the robbery at the Speedway, Largo Police said they gathered more information on 24-year-old Roderick Green, who was a person of interest at the beginning of the investigation. Green was previously questioned, police said, but after he was interviewed again, he now faces two charges of armed robbery related to the Oct. 4 robbery at the Citgo gas station as well as the Speedway robbery.

After Largo Police arrested Green, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said it will also charge him with three counts of armed robbery for three armed robberies that they believed were connected.

The charges are related to a Saturday armed robbery of a Citgo gas station, 8195 Ulmerton Road, and two Sunday robberies at gunpoint at a Speedway gas station, 11708 Seminole Blvd. and a Circle K gas station, 3170 Tampa Road, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Cpl. Dan DiFrancesco said detectives from both agencies will be working together as the case moves forward.

Detectives are seeking 23-year-old Willie A. Cunningham, who they say is connected to two of the Largo robberies. According to a report, police say Cunningham was involved at the same Citgo station robbery Green is accused of, as well as the Chevron station robbery on Oct. 4. Police are asking the public for help in finding Cunningham.
