Possible depression in Palm Harbor as cracks form in home

A family has been safely evacuated as rescue officials responded to a possible depression at their Palm Harbor home.

Palm Harbor Fire Rescue responded to 305 E Dorchester Drive late Tuesday night after homeowners reported seeing cracks, according to Palm Harbor Fire Rescue.

Fire officials found cracks in the foundation and along various areas of the home, officials said.

The cracks continue to form throughout the house and are growing some separating at a rate of a half-inch every hour, investigators tell 10News WTSP.

Engineers will be on site to determine whether the damage is being caused by a depression or sinkhole, officials said, and Red Cross is on alert in case further evacuations are necessary.
