ST. PETERSBURG Police have released surveillance video of a vehicle they believe may be connected with an attempted kidnapping on Coffee Pot Boulevard last week.

The video shows an orange Hyundai Veloster circling around the same area where the abduction occurred on Feb. 7, at about the same time. The footage is from the intersection from Fifth Avenue NE and Beach Drive.

St. Petersburg police said that at about 5:50 a.m. on Feb. 7, a 23-year-old woman jogging along the sidewalk of Coffee Pot Boulevard NE was approached by a man in a vehicle. After he asked for directions, he pulled out a gun and told her to get into the vehicle.

The victim ran away and was not harmed. The vehicle was described as a burnt orange crossover. Anyone with information about this vehicle or this incident is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at (727)893-7780 or text SPPD plus the inormation tip to TIP411.
